“Victorian” refers to the reign of England’s Queen Victoria, 1837-1901. More generally, it refers to the second half of the nineteenth century.

Pediment, it is the piece that comes out from the roof and covers the porch. Lintel, it is the post that goes across the top of a window or door. Portico, it is a porch with a roof. Mansard roof, it is the roof with two slopes, and often it is flat on top. Transom, it is a window or panel, usually operable, above a window or door. And the turret, it is a small, skinny tower usually at the corner of a building.
